I've decided to create a list of what I believe to be the 30 greatest love songs ever written, so that everyone may be able to listen and embrace the best of the best. Moreover, I have provided a quick explanation of each song featured, all in a 6 part series of articles. It's important to note that the listed songs have not been placed in any particular order.

The first single released following Lennon's shock death in December 1980, "Woman" is a song that expresses a man's gratitude for the woman in their life. It's a timeless theme, with wonderful lyrics and an easy, memorable rhythm, which makes it one of the great love ballads of all time.

2. "When I Need You" by Leo Sayer

There are few songs that touch people's heart like Leo Sayer's classic hit from 1975. "When I Need You" explores the intimate connection that exists between two lovers even if they are separated by large distances. The song's nice, slow rhythm is probably the highlight of this unforgettable love song.
